What is "Carne Seca" or "Dried Beef?"
Carne Seca, or its more commonly known English term, dried beef is something many of us have grown up with as children. Carne Seca is more commonly known in Mexican or Spanish dishes. It's American counter part or equivalent is Beef Jerky. Unlike American Beef Jerky, Carne Seca is prepared to dry and usually isn't eaten straight out of the packaging, Although, don't get me wrong, some can be eaten straight out of the package such as beef jerky, the form of Carne Seca I'm most accustomed to is dried shredded beef that's used to make Machacado. Machacado is a very popular Mexican/Spanis dish. Which you can read more on in the recipe section.
